CLASSES, CLUBS & WORKSHOPS

Tracks would like to see everyone get the most out of the hobby, so we are excited to offer classes and workshops to help you do just that!  Call Tracks Hobbies @ (608) 416-5629 to register for one today!

PRESCHOOL-AGE PROGRAMS (3-5 years of age)

*MINI RACER CLUB This drop-in program is for our youngest of racers (ages 3-5).  Weekly agenda includes a race/car-themed story, running cars on the Tamiya Track and a simple race-themed craft. 
     How do you get started in the club? 
Option 1:  You may purchase a Tamiya Mini-4WD kit for adult assembly prior to the first club session.  Bring your completed car along to your first club session. 
Option 2:  You may purchase a pre-assembled Tamiya Mini-4WD at your first club session.  During the session, you decorate the car and run it on the track. 
 
DATE:  Wednesday's, starting in January 2018
TIME: 10:15am - 11:15am
TAMIYA CAR KIT FEE:  $15-$35, depending on model and assembly status  
WEEKLY FEE: $3 per child, adult chaperones are free
 
 

YOUTH PROGRAMS (6-10 years of age)

*BOX STOCK TAMIYA MINI-4WD BUILD CLASS:  Are you ready to build your first Tamiya Mini-4WD car? With over 40 different parts in the kit, the task might seem daunting. But, with a little help from a Tracks Crew Member, you will have fun building your model car and seeing it zoom around the track in no time! Using a partially assembled kit, a Crew Member will introduce you to the process of building by teaching you how to: follow and read the instruction manual, identify parts of the model, identify proper building tools and how they are used, as well as guiding the assembly and adding the finishing touches.
 
AGE: 8-10 years old (other ages welcome)
COST: $35 
 
REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
     ♦  Your pick of a SUPER II Mini-4WD vehicle kit to build and keep.
     ♦  Instruction and materials.
     ♦  Two ‘Track Passes’ to come back and run your car (Public Raceway hours only).
     ♦  Box Stock Registration for that afternoon's Tamiya Mini-4WD Race (January 13th).

*SUPER STOCK TAMIYA BUILD CLASS:  Interested in building a Tamiya Mini-4WD vehicle that can successfully compete in the Super Stock class? JOIN THE CLUB! A Tracks Hobbies crew member will guide you though the build and give you expert tips on tuning and upgrading your vehicle during this 3-week class!  It's all about having fun with friends, while you exploring STEM concepts that help you increase speed and performance. For more information, see details listed under the Tween Program
 
 

TWEEN PROGRAMS (10-13 years of age)

*SUPER STOCK TAMIYA BUILD CLASS:  Interested in building a Tamiya Mini-4WD vehicle that can successfully compete in the Super Stock class? JOIN THE CLUB! A Tracks Hobbies crew member will guide you though the build and give you expert tips on tuning and upgrading your vehicle during this 3-week class!  It's all about having fun with friends, while you exploring STEM concepts that help you increase speed and performance.
 
AGE: 9-13 years old
COST: $85 
 
REGISTRATION INCLUDES:
     ♦  Your pick of selected MS or MA Chassis Mini-4WD vehicle kits to build and upgrade throughout the class.
     ♦  An upgrade kit to transform to Super Stock!  Kit includes: FRP plates, mass dampers, and rollers.
     ♦  An allowance to purchase additional upgrade parts to create your personalized Super Stock Vehicle (i.e., motors, plates, bearings, rollers, brakes, etc.).
     ♦  Tamiya Track access for the month, during all Public Raceway hours.
     ♦  Box Stock Registration for the January Tracks Tamiya Mini-4WD Race on January 13th.
     ♦  Super Stock Registration for the Tracks Tamiya Mini-4WD Race on February 10th.
 
WEEKLY AGENDA:
     WEEK 1:  Building your Box Stock Car.  
     WEEK 2: Advanced Upgrading, Tuning & Practicing.
     WEEK 3:  Installing your Super Stock Upgrade Kit (FRP plates, mass dampers, and rollers) and new motor.

*AMP CAMP:  The AMP CAMP will take new hobbyists through the process of assembling, configuring, and installing the necessary components to create a fully-functioning, hobby-grade, remote control (R/C) AMP MT vehicle. Attendees will explore ‘best practices’ for building, testing, and operating their vehicle in a safe and effective manner. Participants will also be provided expert tips and techniques in maintaining their vehicle to maximize the potential for years of R/C fun and enjoyment.
 
RECOMENDED AGE: 10-14 years old (other ages welcome with Instructor approval)
COST: $275

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Participants must be able to attend all Class Sessions. In the event of an unexpected absence, participants are encouraged to complete the missed assignments prior to attending the next Class. Although participants will be required to complete missed tasks independently, Tracks Crew will provide in-house assistance as needed.

*R/C CARS & TRUCKS - GETTING STARTED:  If you just purchased your first hobby-grade R/C Car or Truck and would like to learn more about the basics (i.e., binding, charging batteries, etc.), we invite you to join us for the next Getting Started workshop.
